Jose graduated with an Accounting Associate Degree in Applied Science from Central Carolina Technical College in 2018. It was Jose’s sophomore year at Crestwood High School where he discovered his passion after taking his first accounting class and immediately knew he wanted to pursue Accounting as a profession.
Jose was born in Mexico and his parents immigrated to the U.S.A. when he was six years old. Attending school in a new language had its challenges, which he not only overcame but quickly excelled. Growing up in a Spanish speaking household has given him the opportunity to be proficient in both English and Spanish.
The path to becoming an accountant has not been easy for Jose because he is a DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) individual, which prevented him from receiving any federal/state scholarships or financial assistance even though he graduated in the top of his class with many academic awards. This required Jose to work long hours in order to pay his own way through college. He is grateful for all the sacrifices that his parents have made along with their unwavering support which have allowed him to become who he is today.
Previously Jose worked at Walgreens where he was the Head of the Photo Department before being promoted to Shift Lead. His employment at Walgreens gave him the opportunity to enhance his leadership skills and develop accurate money management skills. It also taught him the importance of providing the highest quality customer service, which is provided to our clients every day.
Jose assists the firm’s clients with the upmost respect and attention to detail while providing them with superior service. Jose is the main tax preparer in the office, and is currently working on becoming an Enrolled Agent. This will afford him the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards.
In his free time Jose is an avid football fan rooting for the Green Bay Packers every Sunday afternoon during football season. If he is not watching football, he is watching Marvel movies with his siblings, hanging out with friends, or taking joy rides in his 2016 Ford Mustang.
